King Agadion is left to deal with the threat of an eastern invasion due to the current quest of the Scarlet Brotherhood. He chooses to split the army into two; a small (500 men, 6 marshals) contingent will go north to prepare the area for fortification, and to respond to any threats by the odd shade-dwarves. The larger force (1500 men, 12 marshals, 30 paladins) led by Baron Mo Haelax and Sir Marten Oswy will journey to Mereworth and prepare the defenses of that city. In addition two heralds, Tada Mettellius (F) and Aulus Aurrenius Faustus will go to Dennovar, the westernmost city in the Elsir Vale, to speak with the local authorities and support any actions the PCs will take. The job of the PCs is to determine if there is, indeed, a threat and to contribute where they feel best. They will be working primarily as scouts and secondarily as skirmishers.
